President David W. Pershing and Zhang Deqing, director of ICCAS

On March 26, 2015, Prof. David W. Pershing, president of the University of Utah, Prof. Henry S. White, dean of the College of Science, Prof. Cynthia Burrows, chair of the Department of Chemistry, and Prof. Zhang Deqing, director of the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS), jointly signed a collaboration agreement in Salt Lake City. This is the first formal collaboration between a US university and ICCAS.

Over the past ten years, professors from both institutions have collaborated on joint research projects and exchanged trips to and from China. The agreement will further strengthen and promote the collaboration between the Department of Chemistry and ICCAS, including the exchange of faculty members and graduate students, holding joint symposiums, and carrying out joint research projects.

We look forward to the future fruits of this continuing relationship!
